Heavy-duty electric vehicle battery swapping and charging station at the Oyu Tolgoi mine site

Commissioned by "Oyu Tolgoi" LLC, "Shugam" LLC executed the detailed engineering design of the infrastructure required to transition from diesel-powered heavy-duty vehicles to electric vehicles, in alignment with the objective to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Engineering design

• Design of the 35 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL).
• Design of the substation equipped with two 2000 kVA transformers.
• Design of the associated power cable lines.
• Calculation and design of the grounding and lightning protection systems.
• Preparation of the Material Take-Off (MTO).

Design supervision

• Provided design supervision across all stages, including construction and installation, testing and commissioning, as well as during technical and state commission inspections.
• Resolved technical issues that arose during the installation phase, and incorporated and approved necessary modifications into the working drawings.
